Historian to Attend Conference RESOLUTION 3:16:09 - 1 Authorizing Historian to Attend Conference Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Association of Public Historians of New York State (APHNYS) will be holding their Annual State Conference on April 27-29, 2009 in Albany, New York; and WHEREAS, the registration and lodging cost of $403.00 is included in the 2009 budget; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Thom Usher, Town Historian, is hereby authorized to attend the above conference.

RESOLUTION 3:16:09 - 2 To Set Public Hearing for New Zoning Code, Zoning Map and Subdivision Regulations
WHEREAS, Article 16 of the New York State Town Law provides for the adoption and amendment of zoning and land use regulations to promote the health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the community in accordance with a Town Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman adopted a new Comprehensive Plan on December 3, 2007, and thereupon appointed a zoning review committee that has made recommendations for changes and amendments to the zoning code and subdivision regulations; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held on the 1st day of April, 2009 at 7:00 o’clock p.m. at the Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag, in the Town of Beekman, New York, on proposed amendments to the Code of the Town of Beekman to delete and repeal Chapter 155 thereof, ZONING, and replace it with a new Chapter 155, to be entitled ZONING, and repeal of current Subdivision Regulations and replacing it with new subdivision regulations to be entitled Chapter 130, Subdivision of Land, which Chapters shall establish a new and updated zoning code and subdivision regulations, respectively, including an amended zoning map and intended, pursuant to § 272-a(11) of the New York State Town Law, to be brought into accordance with the Town of Beekman Comprehensive Plan adopted December 3, 2007; and be it further RESOLVED, that notice of the time and place of such hearing and setting forth the proposed amendments, or describing in general terms the proposed amendments, be published once on or before the 23rd day of March, 2009 in the Poughkeepsie Journal, a newspaper circulating in the Town of Beekman; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Board declares itself as the lead agency for such proposed “Type 1” action for the purposes of review pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (“SEQRA”), and that a full Environmental Assessment Form respecting the proposed Zoning Ordinance and the Subdivision of Land Local Law as described above be prepared and circulated to the Dutchess County Department of Planning and Development, the neighboring municipalities, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the Hudson Valley Greenway Communities Council, the Beekman Planning Board, and the Beekman Zoning Review Committee.
