WHEREAS, the Town Board will make appointments to the various boards; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby makes the following appointments to be effective immediately:

Dated: April 6, 2009 RESOLUTION 4:6:09 - 2 To Award Clean-Up Day Bids Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, Town clean-up days have been scheduled for Saturday April 25, 2009 and Saturday, October 24, 2009 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Town Hall/highway parking lot; and WHEREAS, bids were received, opened and read publicly by the Town Clerk on March 26, 2009; and WHEREAS, the bids were reviewed by the Town Highway Superintendent and the Town Attorney; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Recycle Depot is hereby awarded the contract for both clean-up days as follows:
And be it further RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to carry out the services. Seconded Councilwoman Barbara Zulauf ROLL CALL VOTE:
RESOLUTION 4:6:09 - 3 In Settlement of Hilltop Manor Tax Assessment Action Councilman Thomas Kinsley offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, Hilltop Manor Landowners Coop had served and filed a Petition of Notice to review the tax assessments fixed by the Town of Beekman for the assessment roll of 2007, upon certain real property located in the Town of Beekman; and WHEREAS, the Town has received a consent judgment in the Hilltop Manor Tax Assessment Action; and WHEREAS, the proposed assessment settlement is supported by professional and uncontested appraisal; and WHEREAS, the Town’s Assessor joins in and approves of the proposed settlement; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Attorney, Kevin Denton, is hereby authorized to sign said consent judgment. Dated: April 6, 2009 RESOLUTION 4:6:09 - 4 To Set Continuation of Public Hearing for New Zoning Code, Zoning Map and Subdivision Regulations
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the 1st day of April, 2009 at 7:00 o’clock p.m. at the Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag, in the Town of Beekman, New York, on proposed amendments to the Code of the Town of Beekman to delete and repeal Chapter 155 thereof, ZONING, and replace it with a new Chapter 155, to be entitled ZONING, and repeal of current Subdivision Regulations and replacing it with new subdivision regulations to be entitled Chapter 130, Subdivision of Land, which Chapters shall establish a new and updated zoning code and subdivision regulations, respectively, including an amended zoning map and intended, pursuant to § 272-a(11) of the New York State Town Law, to be brought into accordance with the Town of Beekman Comprehensive Plan adopted December 3, 2007; and WHEREAS, said public hearing was adjourned and not closed in order to give the public another opportunity to voice their comments; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that a public hearing on the above proposed amendments to the Code of the Town of Beekman will be continued on the 9th day of May, 2009 at 9:00 o’clock a.m. at the Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag, in the Town of Beekman, New York; and be it further RESOLVED, that notice of the time and place of such hearing and setting forth the proposed amendments, or describing in general terms the proposed amendments, be published once on or before the 29th day of April, 2009 in the Poughkeepsie Journal, a newspaper circulating in the Town of Beekman. RESOLUTION 4:6:09 - 5 Appointing Doherty Park Trail Maintainer Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman owns Doherty Park, a 65 acre parcel of land off Beekman Road; and WHEREAS, after the Trails Committee developed and cleared a mile long trail encompassing the perimeter of the park, the Doherty Park Nature Trail officially opened in November of 2008; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to maintain the trail and keep it clear of brush and debris for the safety and enjoyment of the community; and WHEREAS, a voluntary position has been created for this purpose and is attached herewith; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby appoints Gerald Richardson, a member of the Beekman Trails Committee, to the volunteer position of Doherty Park Trail Maintainer through December 31, 2009. RESOLUTION 4:6:09 - 6 To Release Bonds for Gasland Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman holds the following Performance Bonds for Gasland project:
and WHEREAS the work secured by these bonds has been found to be satisfactory by the Town Engineer, Rhode, Soyka & Andrews, and has been completed for several years now; and WHEREAS, the Town Engineer has recommended that the bonds be released; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes that the bonds in the amount of $127,515.00 and $6,000 for Gasland be released by the Town of Beekman.
Dated: April 6, 2009 RESOLUTION 4:6:09 - 7 Authorizing Attendance at Highway School Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the 2009 Highway School will be held June 1-3, 2009 in Ithaca, New York; and WHEREAS, cost for the registration fee as well as lodging will be approximately $600.00; and WHEREAS, funding is included in the 2009 budget; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Highway Superintendent, David Temple, be hereby authorized to attend the 2009 Highway School.
