RESOLUTION 9:8:08 - 1 Authorizing Attendance at Conferences

Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, attendance at conferences was included in the 2008 budget; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes attendance at the following conferences:


NYSHIP Health Insurance Meeting- Donna Shea, Secretary to the Supervisor,
October 2, 2008 in Nanuet, New York – no registration fee.

2008 New York Planning Federation Conference – Planning Board & ZBA members, & Building Inspector, October 12-14, 2008 in Saratoga, NY – registration $275 and lodging of $164 per night.

KVS Accounting & Payroll User Conference –William Brady, Comptroller & Yvonne Rodrigues, Account Clerk, November 6, 2008 in Colonie, New York at a cost of $20.00.

RESOLUTION 9:8:08 - 2 Extension of Town Wide Moratorium

Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, the Town Board on the 19th of November, 2007 adopted a Moratorium Law affecting certain building, subdivisions and other developments in the Town of Beekman; and

WHEREAS, said local law was upon adoption enumerated as Local Law No. 9 of 2007 having an effective date of December 20, 2007 and a duration of six months; and

WHEREAS, said local law provided that the Town Board could by subsequent resolution extend said moratorium for up to two periods of three months each; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the said local law, the first three month extension was authorized and became effective June 20, 2008; and

WHEREAS, additional time is required in order for the Zoning Update Committee to complete its work; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the moratorium provided in Local Law No. 9 of 2007 be hereby extended an additional three months to be effective September 20, 2008.

RESOLUTION 9:8:08 - 3 Road Dedication Extension for Victoria Drive, Plum Court Drive & Tillman Drive

Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, the developer for the Victoria Estates Subdivision and the Plum Court Subdivision has requested the acceptance of Victoria Drive, Plum Court Drive and Tillman Drive by the Town; and

WHEREAS, the developer has submitted the required documentation to the Town Attorney for dedication of said roads and is awaiting approval from the highway superintendent and town engineer that the roads have been completed in accordance with the Town of Beekman road specifications; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby grants an extension beyond the September 15th road dedication deadline for Victoria Drive in the Victoria Estates Subdivision and Plum Court Drive and Tillman Drive in the Plum Court Subdivision to be accepted as town highways.
