RESOLUTION 1:28:08 - 1 Authorizing 2008 Dial-A-Ride Contract Renewals


Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman participates in the Dial-A-Ride Transportation System for senior citizens; and

WHEREAS, the 2008 budget provides for the cost of this program not to exceed $10,278.24; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to sign the 2008 Dial-A-Ride Contract Renewals.

Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption:


WHEREAS, authorization was given for the Town Clerk to advertise for bids for Highway Materials for 2008; and

WHEREAS, said bids were received, opened and read publicly on January 4, 2008 and have been reviewed by the Highway Superintendent; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the bids are hereby awarded as recommended by the Highway Superintendent as attached herewith.

RESOLUTION 1:28:08 - 3 Authorizing Trips for Senior Program


Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption:


WHEREAS, the 2008 budget includes funding for the cost of a variety of bus trips for the Senior Citizen Program; and

WHEREAS, deposits are required for tours, shows and meals to guarantee the reservations and for which the Town is reimbursed through ticket sales; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that payment for the charter of a bus for the following trips are hereby authorized:

March 17, 2008 Irish Festival at Tides $ 770.00
April 27, 2008 Woodloch Pines $ 880.00
May 29, 2008 Hunterdon Hills Playhouse $ 985.00
June 30, 2008 CIA & Millbrook Winery $ 710.00
July 16, 2008 HukeLau, Chiccopee, MA $ 963.00
September 2008 (date to be finalized) Deerfield, MA $ 850.00
October 20, 2008 Platzl Brahaus, Pomona, NY $ 755.00
November 2008 Mt. Haven Resort, Milford, PA $ 850.00
December, 2008 New York City $ 850.00

and be it further RESOLVED, that deposits for tours, shows and meals for the above trips are hereby authorized.

RESOLUTION 1:28:08 - 4 To Set Bond for Poughquag Hamlet Apartments Nicolosi Builders

Councilman Thomas Kinsley offers the following and moves its adoption:


WHEREAS, Rohde, Soyka & Andrews Consulting Engineers, P.C. has prepared a Performance Bond Estimate dated January 4, 2008 recommending that the bond be set at $143,000.00 for Poughquag Hamlet Apartments; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby approves that the bond be set in the amount of $143,000.00 for Poughquag Hamlet Apartments and to be furnished by the applicant for filing in the office of the Town Clerk.

RESOLUTION 1:28:08 - 5 Authorizing Attendance at Stormwater Workshop


Councilwoman Barbara Zulauf offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, Dutchess County Soil & Water Conservation District is sponsoring a workshop entitled Connecting Your Floodplain and Stormwater Responsibilities to be held on February 7, 2008 in LaGrangeville; and

WHEREAS, there is no fee for this workshop and it will be beneficial for municipal board members to attend; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that Supervisor John Adams, Planning Board members Sean Johnston and William Magee and any other board member are hereby authorized to attend the stormwater workshop.

RESOLUTION 1:28:08 - 6 Authorizing Recreation Trip


Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, the 2008 budget includes funding for the cost of a variety of bus trips for the enjoyment of the community; and

WHEREAS, a baseball trip to Yankee Stadium has been planned for August 18, 2008 which requires full payment in advance of the tickets for which the town will be reimbursed through ticket sales; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the payment of $1,710.00 for Yankees vs Kansas City tickets is hereby authorized.
