RESOLUTION 2:4:08 - 1 Board Appointments for 2008 Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption:
RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby makes the following appointments to be effective immediately:
and be it further RESOLVED, that all appointments are contingent upon completion and submission of the new Disclosure of Interest Statement pursuant to Chapter 19, Section 19-9 of the Town Code unless already on file and information has not changed; and be it further RESOLVED, that all appointees shall file their Oath of Office with the Town Clerk of the Town of Beekman prior to serving their term
Motion made by Councilman Kinsley to remove Sean Johnston and remove

RESOLUTION 2:4:08 - 2 To Authorize Bids for Tractor/Mower For Highway Department Councilwoman Barbara Zulauf offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Highway Department is in need of a tractor that will be able to mow the grass on the sides of the roads as well as be able to go over the guardrails; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk of the Town of Beekman is hereby authorized to seek bids for a tractor with a mid-mount boom mower head and sickle bar limb cutter. RESOLUTION 2:4:08 - 3 Local Law No. ___ of 2008 Increase Levels for Persons with Disabilities and Limited Incomes
Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, Real Property Tax Law has increased eligibility ceilings by $1,000 for Persons with Disabilities and Limited Incomes Tax Exemption pursuant to §459-c of the New York State Property Tax Law, which authorizes any municipal corporation pursuant to local law, ordinance or resolution to set the income eligibility level for a partial exemption from the taxation of real property owned by persons with disabilities and limited income for the 2008, 2009 and 2010 tax rolls; and WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman Assessor’s Office recommends that increasing the income eligibility level to the maximum permitted under the Real Property Tax Law would have a minor impact on the taxable real property tax base of the Town of Beekman, now therefore, having complied with the provisions of Section 130 of the Town Law, BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Beekman, County of Dutchess, State of New York, that §135-4 of Chapter 135, Article III of the Code of the Town of Beekman be and hereby is amended to increase the income eligibility level for a partial exemption for the taxation of real property owned by persons with disabilities and limited incomes by $1,000 in each exemption category, so as to read as set forth on the attached schedule, for the 2008, 2009 and 2010 tax rolls.

RESOLUTION 2:4:08 - 4 Authorizing Additional SRF Funds to Include Phase 2 Of the Recreational Complex Feasibility Analysis Councilman Thomas Kinsley offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the resolution of June 18, 2007 authorized LaBerge Group to conduct a feasibility study for an indoor recreation facility; and WHEREAS, the feasibility study was separated into two phases, the first phase approved at a cost not to exceed $10,000.00; and WHEREAS, it has been decided by the Recreation Complex Committee that it would be beneficial to complete a conceptual site plan and market analysis (Phase 2) along with Phase 1; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes an additional expenditure from the SRF funds of $5,000.00, not to exceed $15,000.00 for the completion of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Recreational Complex Feasibility Analysis.
RESOLUTION 2:4:08 - 5 Local Law No. ___ of 2008 Increase Levels for Senior Citizen Tax Exemption
Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption:
WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman Assessor’s Office recommends that increasing the income eligibility level to the maximum permitted under the Real Property Tax Law would have a minor impact on the taxable real property tax base of the Town of Beekman, now therefore, having complied with the provisions of Section 130 of the Town Law, BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Beekman, County of Dutchess, State of New York, that §135-4 of Chapter 135, Article III of the Code of the Town of Beekman be and hereby is amended to increase the income eligibility level for a partial exemption for the taxation of real property owned by senior citizens by $1,000 in each exemption category, so as to read as set forth on the attached schedule, for the 2008, 2009 and 2010 tax rolls.
