4:21:03 - 1 Authorizing First Aid & CPR Class For Recreation Staff
RESOLUTION 4:21:03 - 1 RE: Authorizing First Aid & CPR Class For Recreation Staff Councilman Peter Barton offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman operates a Beach Facility and a Day Camp Program requiring recreation employees to possess CPR and First Aid Certification; and WHEREAS, Mobile Life Support is conducting classes for CPR and First Aid Training at a cost of $35.00 per student; and WHEREAS, funding for the approximately 35 students taking above class has been included in the 2003 budget; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Lifeguards, Day Camp Counselors, Water Safety Instructors and Recreation Staff directly involved with the Summer Recreation Programs requiring certification be hereby authorized to attend First Aid and CPR Training Class. CALL VOTE: Dated: April 21, 2003 RESOLUTION 4:21:03 - 2 RE: To Schedule Public Hearing on Local Law Imposing a Moratorium In the Town Center Area Supervisor John D. Adams offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Beekman would like to impose a six-month moratorium on planning approvals in the Town Center Area; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that a public hearing on the attached local law shall be held on the 5th day of May, 2003 at 7:15 PM at the Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag, New York; and be it further RESOLVED, that notice stating the time and place of such hearing and the purpose thereof, shall be published in the Poughkeepsie Journal, a newspaper circulating in the Town of Beekman, and posted on the signboard of the Town on or before the 24th day of April, 2003. CALL VOTE: Dated: April 21, 2003 RESOLUTION 4:21:03 - 3 RE: To Affirm and Adopt Public Lands Law Sect. 19 Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Assessor of the Town of Beekman has completed and filed the assessment roll for the Pawling Lake Estates Road Improvement District pursuant to Article 15 of the Town Law; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Sect. 19 of the Public Lands Law, notice was served on the State Comptroller on March 28, 2003 that certain State lands identified as Grid Parcel #6959-00-092406, consisting of approximately 451.9 acres, have been assessed 9,078 benefit assessment units on the above referenced assessment roll for highway improvement purposes; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on April 21, 2003 at the time and place specified in a published notice to consider any objections; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes the Supervisor to issue a warrant to the Receiver of Taxes of the Town of Beekman for collection of $34,531.53 from the State of New York. CALL VOTE: Dated: April 21, 2003 RESOLUTION 4:21:03 - 4 RE: To Schedule Public Hearing on RCN Contract Renewal Councilwoman Santospirito offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the contract the Town of Beekman has with RCN to provide cable service to the residents of the Town is due to expire; and WHEREAS, The Town of Beekman's Cable Committee has held discussions with RCN in preparation of renewing the contract; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that a public hearing on a cable contract between the Town of Beekman and RCN shall be held on the 5th day of May, 2003 at 7:00 PM at the Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag, New York; and be it further RESOLVED, that notice stating the time and place of such hearing and the purpose thereof, shall be published in the Poughkeepsie Journal, a newspaper circulating in the Town of Beekman, and posted on the signboard of the Town on or before the 24th day of April, 2003. CALL VOTE: Dated: April 21, 2003 RESOLUTION 4:21:03 - 5 RE: Authorizing Receiver of Taxes & Deputy To Attend Seminar Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, New York State Association of Tax Receivers & Collectors will be holding their annual training seminar on June 8 - 11, 2003 in Auburn, New York; and WHEREAS, the cost for the Receiver of Taxes and Deputy Receiver of Taxes to attend seminar will be approximately $950.00 and is included in the 2003 budget; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Judith Crawford and Margaret Woolley are hereby authorized to attend the 2003 Annual Training Seminar.
