5:05:03 - 1 Appointment to Board of Assessment Review RESOLUTION 5:05:03 - 1 RE: Appointment to Board of Assessment Review Sharon Wohrman Councilman Peter Barton offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, a vacancy exists on the Board of Assessment Review; and WHEREAS, the Town Board will make appointments to the various boards; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Sharon Wohrman be hereby appointed to the Board of Assessment Review with a term to expire 9/30/07. CALL VOTE: Dated: May 5, 2003 RESOLUTION 5:05:03 - 2 RE: For Enactment of Local Law Imposing a Six-Month Moratorium on Planning Approvals in the Town Center Area Councilman Peter Barton offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, a proposed Local Law to impose a six-month moratorium on planning approvals in the Town Center Area was introduced by Councilman Werner Stiegler on April 21, 2003; and WHEREAS, a public hearing on the proposed Local Law has been duly held before the Town Board on May 5, 2003; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that said Local Law to be numerated as Local Law # 1 of 2003, be and hereby is enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Beekman; and be it further RESOLVED, that certified copies of this Local Law be filed immediately in the offices of the Beekman Town Clerk and the New York Secretary of State. Seconded Councilwoman Patricia Santospirito ROLL
CALL VOTE: Dated: May 5, 2003 RESOLUTION 5:05:03 - 3 RE: Library Mortgage Councilwoman Santospirito offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman has executed a lease to the Beekman Library Association on a parcel of land owned by the Town for the construction and maintenance of a library; and WHEREAS, said lease requires Town Board consent prior to any mortgage financing; and WHEREAS, the Beekman Library Association has received the commitment for a construction loan mortgage; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Beekman consents to this mortgage and hereby authorizes the Supervisor to send a letter of consent addressed to the Hudson United Bank, 707 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, New York. RESOLUTION 5:05:03 - 5 RE: In Support of a Trail Way Project Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, trail way projects have been sponsored by New York State, the New York State Department of Transportation, and Metro-North utilizing existing not-in-use rail beds; and WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Beekman is desirous to create multi-use trail ways that would provide the public with access to areas suitable for non-motorized activities such as jogging, hiking, walking and biking; and WHEREAS, the Conservation Advisory Council recommends that the Town of Beekman make a request to Dutchess County Planning and Development to include the Town of Beekman in their long range transportation plans of the Poughkeepsie-Dutchess County Transportation Council; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Beekman hereby authorizes the Supervisor to submit a letter to Dutchess County Planning and Development indicating our interest in the construction of a trail adjacent to the MTA/Metro-North Beacon Line and request that this project be included in the Metropolitan Planning Organization List.
