6:02:03 - 1 Music for Community Day RESOLUTION 6:02:03 - 1 RE: Music for Community Day Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman's annual Community Day is scheduled for July 19, 2003; and WHEREAS, it has been customary to provide musical entertainment throughout the day; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and hereby authorized to enter into contracts with the following:
RESOLVED, that "Back Room Banjos" is hereby rescheduled from Memorial Day to play for one hour at Community Day at the same fee of $100.00. Seconded Councilwoman Patricia Santospirito ROLL
CALL VOTE: Dated: June 2, 2003 RESOLUTION 6:02:03 - 2 RE: Authorizing Receiver of Taxes to Attend Conference Councilman Peter Barton offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Northeast Regional Tax Collector's & Treasurers' Association will be holding its 15th Annual Conference September 7 - 10, 2003 in Newport, Rhode Island; and WHEREAS, the cost of $375.00 has been included in the 2003 budget; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Judith Crawford is hereby authorized to attend said conference. CALL VOTE: Dated: June 2, 2003 RESOLUTION 6:02:03 - 3 RE: Authorizing Resurfacing of the Tennis Courts Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the tennis court at Recreation Park is in need of resurfacing; and WHEREAS, the tennis court will be used for demonstrations by Americana as part of the Community Day festivities; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the Town's Procurement policy at least three proposals have been received and reviewed by the Recreation Commission; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that upon recommendation of the Recreation Commission, the Town Board hereby accepts the lowest bid of $2,700.00 from Seal & Stripe Pavement Maintenance Specialists; and be it further RESOLVED, that payment be made from the Special Recreation Fund (SRF). CALL VOTE: Dated: June 2, 2003 RESOLUTION 6:02:03 - 4 RE: Appointment of Video Technician Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town's Audio-Visual Technician (Clerk) responsible for taping of Town Board meetings, Gene Bates-Renaud, has resigned effective May 21, 2003; and WHEREAS, after announcing the pending vacancy at Town Board meetings and in the Poughkeepsie Journal and Voice Ledger, resumes were received and reviewed; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Leonard Jerram be hereby appointed to the position of Audio-Visual Technician (Clerk) at an hourly rate of $9.00 per hour. CALL VOTE: Dated: June 2, 2003 RESOLUTION 6:02:03 - 5 RE: Authorizing Attendance at Water Safety Instructor Class Councilwoman Santospirito offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, it is a Board of Health requirement to have a certified Water Safety Instructor on the summer recreation staff whenever swimming is part of the day camp program; and WHEREAS, there is a class available in Manhattan June 23 - 27 prior to the opening of day camp; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Head Lifeguard, Joseph Bianco, is hereby authorized to attend Water Safety Instructor Class at a fee of $300.00.
