Drainage Installation at Town Center Boulevard RESOLUTION 6:6:05 - 1 RE: Authorizing Drainage Installation at Town Center Boulevard Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption:
WHEREAS, site work for the parcel of land on which the library and the recreation fields are located is the responsibility of the town; and WHEREAS, the hourly rate for equipment and an operator for B&K Excavation, Inc. is included on the Dutchess County Department of Public Works bid list and precludes the Town from the need to seek bids; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Highway Superintendent is hereby authorized to rent the equipment and operator necessary to install the drainage associated with development of the entranceway to Town Center Boulevard from B&K Excavation, Inc.; and be it further RESOLVED, that the materials for this project as well as the additional laborers will be supplied through the highway department; and be it further RESOLVED, that the funding for this project will be split equally between the Special Recreation Fund (SRF) and the Library Capital Appropriation.
Dated: June 6, 2005 RESOLUTION 6:6:05 - 2 RE: Authorizing Attendance at Land Use Assessment Workshop Councilman Thomas Kinsley offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Pace Land Use Law Center will be holding a one day Land Use Conflict Assessment Workshop on June 10, 2005 at a cost of $200.00; and WHEREAS, funds for workshops and seminars are included in the 2005 budget; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Planning Board member, David Anderson, is hereby authorized to attend the Land Use workshop. Dated: June 6, 2005 RESOLUTION 6:6:05 - 4 RE: Proclaiming July as Recreation & Parks Month
WHEREAS, parks, recreation activities and leisure experiences provide opportunities for young people to live, grow and develop into contributing members of society; create lifelines and continuous life experiences for older members of the community; generate opportunities for people to come together and experience a sense of community; and pay dividends to communities by attracting business and jobs and increasing housing values; and WHEREAS, we recognize the vital contributions of employees and volunteers in parks and recreation facilities as these dedicated supporters keep public parks clean and safe for visitors, organize youth activities, provide educational programming on health, nutrition, first aid and gardening, advocate for more open space and better trails, as well as ensure that parks and recreation facilities are safe and accessible places for all citizens to enjoy; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town of Beekman does hereby proclaim the month of July as Recreation and Parks Month and we call upon park and recreation supporters to join us in recognizing the importance of our nation’s parks and recreation facilities and to learn more about how to support the places that bring our communities a higher quality of life, safer places to play and healthy alternatives through recreation programming for everyone; and be it further RESOLVED, that during Recreation and Parks Month all citizens enjoy what their community has to offer by taking part in their favorite sports, visiting the outdoors, spending time with family and friends or just relaxing.
