Contract RESOLUTION 8:6:07 - 1 RE: Ratification of the CSEA Contract Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption:
WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman employees who are members of Local 1000 have voted on and approved the proposed agreement; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Town of Beekman and Local 1000, CSEA effective January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2009, is hereby approved for execution by the Town Supervisor. Dated: August 6, 2007 RESOLUTION 8:6:07 - 2 RE: Amendment to the Existing Alamo Ambulance Contract Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, there has been an increased usage of our contracted Alamo rig for the purpose of transporting Green Haven Correction Facility inmates, therefore, leaving the Town of Beekman unprotected; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Alamo Ambulance Services, Inc. is hereby prohibited from dispatching the contracted Alamo rig (34-79) to Green Haven Correctional Facility and utilizing said rig for situations involving inmates; and be it further RESOLVED, that Dutchess County 911 will be duly notified of this amendment to the contract and be subject to this provision as well; and be it further RESOLVED, that should an emergency arise involving employees or visitors of Green Haven Correctional Facility, this rig can be dispatched and utilized for transport. Seconded Councilman Werner Stiegler ROLL CALL VOTE: Dated: August 6, 2007 RESOLUTION 8:6:07 - 3 RE: Enactment of Local Law No. ___ of 2007 “Cash Deposits in Lieu of Reservation of Recreation Lands” Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town Board has duly held a public hearing on amending the CODE OF THE TOWN OF BEEKMAN to increase the cash deposit required in lieu of a park or recreation area from $4,000 to $5,000 for each buildable lot approved by the Planning Board; and WHEREAS, the Town Board has considered all comments made at said public hearing; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Beekman hereby authorizes and approves Local Law No. ___ of 2007 amending Chapter 75, Article I, Cash Deposits in Lieu of Reservation of Recreation Lands, of the CODE OF THE TOWN OF BEEKMAN to increase the cash deposit fee from $4,000 to $5,000; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to take all steps necessary to implement this resolution, including the filing of certified copies of this Local Law in the offices of the Beekman Town Clerk and the New York Secretary of State; and be it further RESOLVED, that this Local Law shall take effective immediately upon its filing with the Secretary of State.
Dated: August 6, 2007 RESOLUTION 8:6:07 - 4 RE: Authorizing Attendance at Leadership Training Councilman Thomas Kinsley offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, The Chamber Foundation, Inc. is accepting applications for their Leadership Dutchess program; and WHEREAS, Leadership Dutchess is a program dedicated to educating and motivating aspiring professionals to serve in leadership roles within the community as well enhance their capacity for greater communications, understanding of community issues and improving the quality of life in the Dutchess County Area; and WHEREAS, funds for training is included in the 2007 budget; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Beekman hereby supports submission of an application by Donna Shea, Secretary to the Supervisor, to the Leadership Dutchess program and if chosen, authorizes the expenditure of $750.00. RESOLUTION 8:6:07 - 5 RE: To Continue Public Hearing on Local Law Prohibiting the Solicitation of Towing Business At Motor Vehicle Accidents
WHEREAS, a public hearing on a proposed Local Law prohibiting the solicitation of towing business at motor vehicle accidents was held on November 20, 2006 and adjourned; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the continuation of the public hearing on the proposed local law will be held on the 20th day of August, 2007 at 7:20 p.m. at the Community Center on Recreation Center Road in the Town of Beekman, New York; and be it further RESOLVED, that notice stating the time and place of such hearing and setting forth the proposed local law, or describing in general terms the proposed local law, be published once on or before the 10th of August, 2007 in the Poughkeepsie Journal, a newspaper circulating in the Town of Beekman, and posted on the signboard of the Town.
