RESOLUTION 8:18:03 - 1 RE: Authorizing Assessor to Attend Seminar Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, a seminar on Assessment Administration and annual meeting will be held at the Hilton Lake Placid Resort in Lake Placid, New York on September 7 - 10, 2003; and

WHEREAS, attendance at seminar will fulfill 14 continuing education credits for the Town Assessor; and

WHEREAS, most of the cost for the seminar will be reimbursed by the State; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Assessor is hereby authorized to attend above seminar.

RESOLUTION 8:18:03 - 2 RE: Naming of "Brigadoon Way" Councilman Peter Barton offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, three parcels have been created off of a new private drive located off of Clove Valley Road; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to name said private drive in order to properly address these parcels enabling emergency responders to locate individuals in need of assistance; and

WHEREAS, the proposed name of "Brigadoon Way" for the private drive has been reviewed and approved by Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that said private drive is hereby named "Brigadoon Way" and Dutchess County 911 be duly notified.

RESOLUTION 8:18:03 - 3 RE: Authorizing Purchase of PC CodeBook Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, the Town ordinances of Beekman are currently published and printed in bound form necessitating the insertion of revision pages for the numerous manuals in the possession of town officials and the various board members; and

WHEREAS, establishing the Code in a software program to be installed on the Town's computers will be more efficient allowing for faster and more accurate update-to-date information as well as provide fully searchable text for faster retrieval of Code information; and

WHEREAS, the software program will enable the Code to be posted on the Town's web site where citizens can readily access information; and

WHEREAS, we have received the attached proposal from General Code Publishers for the setup of the PC/CodeBook along with the E-Code Service at a price of $2,780.00 with an annual maintenance fee of $800.00; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby accepts the proposal from General Code Publishers and that the Supervisor be authorized to sign the proposal.

RESOLUTION 8:18:03 - 4 RE: To Authorize Speed Limit Study on County Route 9 (Clove Valley Road) Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, County Route 9 (Clove Valley Road) in the Town of Beekman has been exposed to an excessive volume of traffic due to a tremendous growth in the area; and

WHEREAS, with the completion of the new recreation area and library on Clove Valley Road there will be an even higher volume of traffic; and

WHEREAS, the Town Board recommends lowering the speed limit from 55 mph to 45 mph on Clove Valley Road from Route 55 to the Beekman-Unionvale town line; and

WHEREAS, upon the Town's request, the State will conduct a speed limit study; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the State of New York, Department of Transportation be and hereby requested to conduct a speed limit study on County Route 9 (Clove Valley Road); and be it further

RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized to complete and submit the required TE-9 application to the Dutchess County Department of Public Works.
