Grant RESOLUTION 09:08:03 - 1 RE: Appointment of Support Staff and Services For Archive Grant Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town has been awarded a Records Management Improvement Fund grant; and WHEREAS, funding includes the hiring of an inventory clerk(s) at a budget amount of $12,500 as well as the services of a consultant at $1,000.00; and WHEREAS, the Town Board is authorized under Town Law to make all appointments; now therefore be it RESOLVED,
that the following appointments be made: Seconded Councilman Werner Stiegler ROLL
CALL VOTE: Dated: September 8, 2003 RESOLUTION 09:08:03 - 2 RE: To Release Bond for SRL Construction (Roselli Erosion Control Permit) Councilwoman Santospirito offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town Engineer, Rohde, Soyka & Andrews, has completed a final site inspection of the work performed by SRL Construction (Roselli Erosion Control Permit); and WHEREAS, the Town Engineer has determined that the works for which a performance guarantee reduction are applied for have been satisfactorily completed; and WHEREAS, the Town Engineer has assigned the value of the completed works at $20,000.00; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes that the bond in the amount of $20,000 be released by the Town of Beekman. Seconded Councilman Werner Stiegler Motion made by Supervisor Adams to amend resolution to make the bond release contingent upon payment of $539.90 for police protection Seconded by Councilwoman Santospirito ROLL
CALL VOTE: Dated: September 8, 2003 RESOLUTION 09:08:03 - 3 RE: Authorizing CAC to Purchase Maps Councilman Peter Barton offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the Conservation Advisory Council to have for their use a variety of resource maps; and WHEREAS, there is a budgetary provision for the estimated cost of $353.35 for these maps in the 2003 budget; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Conservation Advisory Council is hereby authorized to purchase the maps as outlined in the attached proposal. CALL VOTE Dated: September 8, 2003 RESOLUTION 09:08:03 - 4 RE: Authorizing Computer Course Councilman Peter Barton offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, Arlington Continuing Education is offering a variety of computer courses for six weeks in the evenings at Arlington High School; and WHEREAS, the fee for these courses range from $58.00 to $86.00; and WHEREAS, these courses will be beneficial to some of the employees of the Town;and WHEREAS, to date the following employees have opted to take the EXCEL and/or ACCESS course at $58.00:
And WHEREAS, the following two employees will take the Microsoft Word course at $86.00:
Now therefore be it RESOLVED, that upon completion of the course, the Town will reimburse the course fee(s) to these employees. Seconded Supervisor John Adams ROLL
CALL VOTE: Dated: September 8, 2003 RESOLUTION 09:08:03 - 5 RE: Authorizing Submission of the Dover Ridge Facility Plan Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, Resolution 04:14:03-71 authorized Insite Engineering to proceed with the Dover Ridge Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehabilitation Report; and WHEREAS, said report, which also serves as the proposed Facility Plan, has been completed and put in the hands of all Town Board members for their review; and WHEREAS, final approval of the Facility Plan must come from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) before the project can commence on the replacement of the Dover Ridge Wastewater Treatment Plant; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes the submission of the Dover Ridge Facility Plan to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for their final approval. CALL VOTE: Dated: September 8, 2003 RESOLUTION 09:08:03 - 6 RE: To Award Bid for Fencing at Little League Field Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town Clerk was authorized by resolution on July 21, 2003 to seek bids for fencing at the new Little League field; and WHEREAS, one bid was received, opened and reviewed by the Recreation Commission; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the attached bid from Rocky's Fence Company for $11,989.00 be hereby awarded. CALL VOTE: Dated: September 8, 2003 RESOLUTION 09:08:03 - 7 RE: Authorizing Beekman Fire Company to Conduct a Fire Drill on Town Property Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, training and drills for the Beekman Fire Company is vital to the safety of the Town; and WHEREAS, the Beekman Fire Company is requesting the use of the "Baldwin House" located on Recreation Center Road, which is owned by the Town, to conduct a fire drill; and WHEREAS, there will be no damage done to the building and will not interfere with activities scheduled at Recreation Park; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Beekman Fire Company is hereby granted permission to use the "Baldwin House" for their fire drill on September 22, 2003; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Head of the Maintenance Department, Greg Brown, will be duly notified of this event. CALL VOTE: Dated: September 8, 2003 RESOLUTION 09:08:03 - 8 RE: Authorizing Town Historian to Attend Conference Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the 2003 Association of Public Historians of New York State Conference will be held October 19, 2003 through October 21, 2003 in Ronkonkoma Long Island, New York; and WHEREAS, the cost of $285.00 is included in the 2003 historian budget; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Historian, Vincent Vail, be and hereby authorized to attend the conference. CALL VOTE: Dated: September 8, 2003 RESOLUTION 09:08:03 - 9 RE: Authorizing Flags at Half-Mast on September 11th Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the tragedy of September 11, 2001 will forever remain at the forefront of our minds; and WHEREAS, our Armed Services continue to sacrifice their lives in the effort to prevent terrorist acts; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town of Beekman flags will be flown at half-mast on September 11th in remembrance of those who lost their lives on this horrific day in 2001 as well our service men and women who have lost their lives in the War on Terrorism. Planning Federation Conference Councilwoman Santospirito offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the 2003 New York Planning Federation Conference will be held September 21, 2003 through September 24, 2003 in Lake Placid, New York; and WHEREAS, the cost of $637.00 per person is included in the 2003 Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals budget, now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the following members of the Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Board be and hereby authorized to attend the conference:
