RESOLUTION 9:18:06 - 1 RE: Authorizing the Submission of The Fiscal Year 2007 Dutchess County Community Development Block Grant Program Application

PROJECT: Handicap Accessible Restrooms at Town Hall


Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman is participating in the Dutchess County Community Development Consortium for the Fiscal Year 2007; and

WHEREAS, input from citizens and groups has been received and considered; and

WHEREAS, an application has been prepared which addresses our community concerns; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Dutchess County Community Development Consortium Fiscal Year 2007 application for the Town of Beekman including the certifications is hereby approved; and be it further

RESOLVED, that the submission of said application to the Dutchess County Department of Planning and Development be and hereby is authorized.

RESOLUTION 9:18:06 - 2 RE: Bond Reduction for Plum Court

Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption:


WHEREAS, the Town Board is authorized to approve reductions in performance bonds pursuant to §277-9(d) of the Town Law; and

WHEREAS, there remains a Performance Bond amount of $182,000.00 on the Plum Court Project; and

WHEREAS, certain portions of the bonded work for Plum Court have been completed; and

WHEREAS, the Town Engineer has inspected the site and has determined that the works for which a Performance Bond reduction are applied for have been installed in general compliance with the approved plans and specifications; and

WHEREAS, the Town Engineer has assigned the value of the remaining work to be completed at $86,660.00; and

WHEREAS, at the August 17, 2006 Planning Board meeting the bond reduction was approved; and

WHEREAS, the Planning Board recommends that the Town Board approve an additional reduction in Performance bond of $95,340.00; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Town Board approves the reduction in Performance Bond of $95,340.00 for Plum Court and authorizes the applicant to substitute the current bond on file in the office of the Town Clerk with the new Performance Bond in the amount of $87,000.00.

RESOLUTION 9:18:06 - 3 RE: Authorizing Attendance at Teleconference

Councilwoman Barbara Zulauf offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, the New York State Department of State Division of Local Government Services will be holding a teleconference entitled “Community Partnerships, Achieving Success and Savings through Intermunicipal and Regional Cooperation” on September 27, 2006 in Millbrook; and

WHEREAS, the cost of $15 each has been included in the 2006 budget; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that Supervisor John Adams, Councilman Thomas Kinsley and Highway Superintendent David Temple are hereby authorized to attend above teleconference.

RESOLUTION 9:18:06 - 4 RE: To Go Out to Bid on Highway Truck

Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, the Highway Department is in need of a pickup truck for highway maintenance and snowplowing to replace an aged truck; and

WHEREAS, the 2006 highway budget provides for the purchase of an additional truck; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized to seek bids for the purchase of a 5 speed, 4X4 automatic V8 diesel pickup truck.
