Hills RESOLUTION 10:01:07 - 1 RE: Bond Reduction for Fairfield Hills Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town Board is authorized to approve reductions in performance bonds pursuant to §277-9(d) of the Town Law; and WHEREAS, certain portions of the bonded work for Fairfield Hills Subdivision have been completed; and WHEREAS, the Town Engineer has inspected the site and has determined that the works for which a Performance Bond reduction are applied for have been completed in general compliance with the approved plans and specifications; and WHEREAS, the Town Engineer has assigned the value of the remaining work to be completed at $140,000.00; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board approves the reduction in Performance Bond of $500,000 for Fairfield Hills Subdivision and authorizes the applicant to substitute the current bond on file in the office of the Town Clerk with the new Performance Bond in the amount of $140,000.
RESOLUTION 10:01:07 - 2 RE: Authorizing Attendance at Civil Service Training Session
WHEREAS, State Civil Service Law mandates certain statutory duties and responsibilities to municipalities in the administration of Civil Service in the County of Dutchess; and WHEREAS, it will be beneficial for the Secretary of the Supervisor to attend a half-day training session that the New York State Department of Civil Service is holding on October 2, 2007 in Newburgh, New York; and WHEREAS, there is no fee for attendance at said training session; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Donna Shea is hereby authorized to attend the training session on civil service basics. RESOLUTION 10:01:07 - 3 RE: To Set Hearing For Cold War Veterans Tax Exemption
WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman Assessor’s Office recommends that setting the eligibility level to $8,000 would have a minor impact on the taxable real property tax base of the Town of Beekman; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that pursuant to Section 130 of the Town Law, a public hearing on a proposed amendment to Chapter 135, Article II of the Code of the Town of Beekman to set the eligibility level for a partial exemption for the taxation of real property owned by persons who rendered military service to the United States at least 365 days between September 2, 1945 and December 26, 1991 and has received a “Cold War Recognition Certificate” under Public Law 105-85, Sect. 1084 1998 National Defense Authorization Act be held on the 15th day of October, 2007 at 7:20 o’clock p.m. at the Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag, in the Town of Beekman, New York, and that notice of the time and place of such hearing and setting forth the proposed amendment be published once on or before the 5th day of October, 2007 in the Poughkeepsie Journal, a newspaper circulating in the Town of Beekman.
RESOLUTION 10:01:07 - 4 RE: Authorizing LaBerge Group to Update the Town’s Zoning Regulations
WHEREAS, the Laberge Group has completed the associated tasks of the comprehensive plan and the economic development plan; and WHEREAS, after due consideration, the Comprehensive Plan Review Committee (CPRC) has recommended the Laberge Group as the preferred consultant to amend the Town’s appropriate zoning and land use regulations to implement the goals and strategies developed as part of the Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, a work plan and fee was submitted by the Laberge Group as part of its original proposal for the Vision Beekman Plan detailing the scope of services for updating and amending the Town’s zoning and land use regulations; and WHEREAS, at the request of the Town Board, the Laberge Group agreed not to begin the task of amending the zoning and land use regulation until receipt of written authorization from the Town Board; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes the Laberge Group, 4 Computer Drive West, Albany, New York 12205, duly licensed under the Laws of the State of New York and competent municipal planners, be authorized to prepare the zoning and land use amendments, zoning map, and other necessary planning work as required and as directed by the Town Board and the CPRC for a fee not to exceed $22,000 as part of the original fee estimate; and be it further RESOLVED, that two copies of this resolution be forwarded to said firm for inclusion into the application documents; and be it further RESOLVED, that in order to avoid duplication of effort, all departments, agencies, etc., shall transmit to said consultants copies of planning previously or collaterally accomplished under other Local, State or Federal Programs, such planning to be utilized wherever applicable; and be it further RESOLVED, that a zoning sub-committee, to be named by the Town Board at a later date, shall be established to work with the LaBerge Group through the zoning review and revision process.
