to - RESOLUTION 10:7:02 - 1 Fall Festival RESOLUTION 10:7:02 - 1 RE: Fall Festival Councilwoman Mauro offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission has given approval to the Recreation Department to hold a Fall Festival for the community on October 20, 2002 from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Beekman Recreation Center; and WHEREAS, entertainment is essential in order for this event to be successful in attracting the members of the community; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Recreation Director be and hereby authorized to enter into contracts with the following:

CALL VOTE: Dated: October 4, 2002 RESOLUTION 10:7:02 - 2 RE: Authorizing Purchase of Lawn Mower Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the lawn mower used by the Maintenance Department has recurring problems and has been in the shop numerous times for repairs due to the age of the mower and its excessive use; and WHEREAS, said lawn mower was purchased at a time when the Town only maintained the Recreation Area on Recreation Center Road and one soccer field; and WHEREAS, as an additional mower is necessary as said lawn mower does not have the capability of maintaining the additional fields and the new recreation land that the Town now has the responsibility of mowing; and WHEREAS, at least three proposals have been sought and reviewed in accordance with the Town's Procurement Policy; now therefore let it be RESOLVED, that the Maintenance Department be and hereby authorized to purchase a 27 HP Liquid Cooled Exmark Lazer with a bagging system from Empire Power Tools at a total price of $9,119.20; and be it further RESOLVED, that the expense for the mower will be charged to appropriation 7140.2 Maintenance. CALL VOTE: Dated: October 7, 2002 RESOLUTION 10:7:02 - 3 RE: To Accept Bid for Oil Tank Replacement Councilwoman Santospirito offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the life of the existing underground oil storage tank located in front of the Town Hall is questionable due to its advanced age; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 09:09:02 -156 gave authorization for the Town Hall Restoration Committee to go out to bid for a replacement tank; and WHEREAS, three proposals have been sought and reviewed in accordance with the Town's Procurement Policy; now therefore let it be RESOLVED, that the proposal received from Jim Beyer Plumbing for $4,980.00 be accepted and that the Supervisor be and hereby authorized to sign all documents associated with the abandonment of the existing tank and the installation of the new tank. CALL VOTE: Dated: October 7, 2002 RESOLUTION 10:7:02 - 4 RE: For Notice of Public Hearing on Preliminary Budget Councilman Peter Barton offers the following and moves its adoption: NOW BE IT RESOLVED, that pursuant to Sect. 108 of New York State Law a public hearing on the 2003 preliminary budget shall be held on the 28th day of October, 2002 at 7:30 PM at the Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag, in the Town of Beekman, New York; and be it further RESOLVED, that notice stating the time and place of such hearing the purpose thereof, that copy of the preliminary budget is available at the office of the Town Clerk after October 21, 2002, and all other requirements of Town Law Sect. 108, shall be published in the Poughkeepsie Journal, a newspaper circulating in the Town of Beekman, and posted on the signboard of the Town on or before the 23rd of October, 2002. CALL VOTE: Dated: October 7, 2002 RESOLUTION 10:7:02 - 5 RE: Appointment to the Recreation Commission Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, a vacancy exists on the Recreation Commission due to the resignation of William Thomas; and WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission, after interviewing interested individuals answering a published ad in the newspaper, has recommended the appointment of Tom Kinsley; and WHEREAS, some members of the Town Board are of the opinion that the advertisement for interested individuals needed to be published for a longer period of time to give residents enough time to respond to the ad; and WHEREAS, no other interested parties have contacted the Supervisor; now therefore let it be
