RESOLUTION 10:17:05 - 1 RE: Authorizing the Assessor to the Town of Beekman To File the Assessment Roll for Dover Ridge Sewer District And the Setting of a Public Hearing on Assessment Roll


Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption:


WHEREAS, the Town Board has authorized the spending of $1,200,000 for the rehabilitation of the Dover Ridge Wastewater Treatment Facility, and

WHEREAS, the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation has committed to a thirty-year, no interest loan in an amount not to exceed $876,000 for that project, and

WHEREAS, the repayment of this loan is to be made by the landowners within the Dover Ridge Sewer District by special assessment on their property tax bills beginning in 2006 as approved by the Office of the New York State Comptroller; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Assessor of the Town of Beekman be instructed to complete and file the assessment roll for the Dover Ridge Sewer District pursuant to Article 15 of the New York State Town Law; and be it further

RESOLVED, that the extension of this assessment shall be on a benefit unit basis with each parcel assigned one (1) benefit unit; and be it further

RESOLVED, that pursuant to section 239 of the Town Law a public hearing on such assessment roll shall be held on the 7th day of November, 2005 at 7:00 o’clock p.m. at the Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag, in the Town of Beekman, New York, and be it further

RESOLVED, that notice shall be published in the Poughkeepsie Journal on or before the 27th day of October, 2005 stating that the Dover Ridge Sewer District Assessment Roll has been completed and the Town Board will meet and hear any objections which may be made to the roll at the time and place as specified above, and that such notice shall also be posted on the signboard of the Town on or before the 27th day of October, 2005.

RESOLUTION 10:17:05 - 2 RE: Fall Festival Contracts

Supervisor John D. Adams offers the following and moves its adoption:


WHEREAS, the Fourth Annual Fall Festival sponsored by the Recreation Department is scheduled for Sunday, October 23, 2005; and

WHEREAS, entertainment for this event has been planned for the enjoyment of citizens of all ages; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with the following vendors and authorize payment thereof:

Thomas P. Swetz, Magic Show $ 125.00
Two By Two Zoo $ 600.00
Stolen Heart, Band $ 600.00
Fun Time Inflatables $1,660.00

RESOLUTION 10:17:05 - 3 RE: Authorizing SRF Funds for Dugouts for Ball Fields at Town Center Park

Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption:

WHEREAS, the Town Center Park Plans include the construction of dugouts at all ball fields; and

WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission is ready to proceed with the construction of six dugouts at the newly constructed fields at Town Center Park; and

WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission is requesting that the Town Board authorize the use of SRF Funds (Special Recreation Fund) for the materials needed for the six dugouts as the construction of the dugouts will be accomplished by utilizing volunteer labor; and

WHEREAS, the cost of construction materials for six (6) dugouts as outlined in the attached itemization is approximately $33,000.00; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the expenditure for said materials for six dugouts at Town Center Park will be charged to the SRF account; and be it further

RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be authorized to seek bids for the purchase of the concrete block and the purchase of the remaining material shall be made according to the Town’s Procurement Policy.
