to the Recreation Commission RESOLUTION 11:4:02 - 1 RE: Appointment to the Recreation Commission Councilwoman Patricia Santospirito offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, a vacancy exists on the Recreation Commission due to the resignation of William Thomas, and WHEREAS, Earl Lauria, a Town resident and past member of the Recreation Commission, with 10 years experience, has applied for the said vacancy on the Recreation Commission, and WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission has interviewed Mr. Lauria, and has had ample opportunity to conduct any additional interviews, and WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission has indicated that the vacancy has existed for an extended period of time and should therefore be filled as quickly as possible, now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Earl Lauria is hereby appointed to serve on the Recreation Commission with a term expiring on December 31, 2007. CALL VOTE: Dated: November 4, 2002 RESOLUTION 11:4:02 - 2 RE: Appointment of Audio-Visual Technician Councilman Peter Barton offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Town's Audio-Visual Technician (Clerk) responsible for taping of Town Board meetings, Tom Roberts, has resigned effective September 2, 2002; and WHEREAS, the vacancy was advertised in the Poughkeepsie Journal; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that Gene Bates-Renaud be hereby appointed to the position of Audio-Visual Technician (Clerk) at an hourly rate of $9.00 per hour. CALL VOTE: Dated: November 4, 2002 RESOLUTION 11:4:02 - 3 RE: To Set Hearing on Dover Ridge Water & Sewer Rents Increase Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Dover Ridge Water District and the Dover Ridge Sewer District were duly created and operate within the Town of Beekman pursuant to the provisions of Article 12-A of the Town Law of the State of New York; and WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman had been subsequently authorized to send invoices to all landowners of Dover Ridge Estates for water usage in the amount of $34.92 per quarter and sewer service in the amount of $90.00 per quarter and; WHEREAS, these amounts provide insufficient revenue to cover the ongoing operation and maintenance costs of the District; and WHEREAS, Article 14-F of the General Municipal Law authorizes the local legislative body to increase water and sewer rents on behalf of a water and sewer district by resolution after a public hearing; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that a public hearing for increasing water and sewer rents be held on the 14th day of November, 2002 at 7:00 o'clock p.m. at Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag, in the Town of Beekman, New York, and that notice of the time and place of such hearing be posted and published once on or before the 5th Day of November in the Poughkeepsie Journal, a newspaper circulating in the Town of Beekman. CALL VOTE: Dated: November 4, 2002 RESOLUTION 11:4:02 - 4 RE: To Request Commencement Date of Term of Office For Highway Superintendent Councilman Werner Stiegler offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, there exists a vacancy in the elective office of Highway Superintendent; and WHEREAS, candidates nominated to fill the vacancy for the remaining term of Highway Superintendent through December 31, 2003 will seek election on Tuesday, November 5, 2002; and WHEREAS, the commencement date of the term of office for the newly elected Highway Superintendent is January 1, 2003; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Beekman hereby requests the Highway Superintendent-elect to commence his term of office immediately succeeding the election; and be it further RESOLVED, that pursuant to §25 of the Town Law, the Superintendent of Highway-elect files an oath of office with the Town Clerk prior to entering into the duties of office for which he is elected; and be it further RESOLVED, that for the remainder of 2002, the Superintendent of Highway-elect will be paid the current salary of the Highway Superintendent set by the Town Board on January 3, 2002 of $1,632.49 bi-weekly. CALL VOTE: Dated: November 4, 2002 RESOLUTION 11:4:02 - 5 RE: To Affirm and Adopt Pawling Lake Assessment Roll to Finance Improvements Councilwoman Patricia Santospirito offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the Assessor to the Town of Beekman has completed and filed the assessment-roll for the Pawling Lake Estates Road Improvement District pursuant to Article 15 of the New York State Town Law; and WHEREAS, the Town Board caused due notice of the completion of the assessment-roll and of the time and place wherein the Town Board would meet and hear and consider any objections to the roll to be duly published according to law; and WHEREAS, the Town Board did meet at the Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag in the Town of Beekman, New York, at the time and place specified in the notice, and heard and considered all objections to said assessment-roll; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Pawling Lake Estates Road Improvement District assessment roll be and is hereby affirmed and adopted as originally proposed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Beekman; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk shall annex to said assessment roll a warrant which shall be signed by the Supervisor of the Town of Beekman, and countersigned by the Town Clerk, commanding the Receiver of Taxes and Assessments to collect from the several persons named therein the sum or sums opposite their respective names and to pay the same to said Supervisor.
