of the 2007 Annual Budget RESOLUTION 11:20:06 - 1 RE: Adoption of the 2007 Annual Budget Supervisor John Adams offers the following and moves its adoption:
RESOLVED, that the 2007 budget as changed, altered and revised and as attached hereto, is hereby adopted as the annual budget of the Town of Beekman for the fiscal year beginning on January 1, 2007, and the same shall be entered in the minutes of the Town Board.
RESOLUTION 11:20:06 - 2 RE: To Seek Proposals for 2007 Highway Materials
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized to seek bids for the above-referenced materials. Seconded Supervisor John Adams ROLL CALL VOTE: Dated: November 20, 2006
RESOLUTION 11:20:06 - 3 RE: To Set a Public Hearing on the Dover Ridge Water and Sewer User Rates
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Beekman is responsible for the operation and management of the Dover Ridge Water and Sewer District; and WHEREAS, Article 14-F of the General Municipal Law authorizes the local legislative body to increase water and sewer user rates on behalf of the water and sewer district by resolution after a public hearing; and WHEREAS, the Town Board is desirous in adjusting the water and sewer user rates to reflect the actual cost of operating the water and sewer districts; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that a public hearing for lowering the water user rates and increasing the sewer user rates be held on the 4th day of December, 2006 at 7:10 o’clock p.m. at Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag, in the Town of Beekman, New York, and that notice of the time and place of such hearing be posted and published once on or before the 24th day of November in the Poughkeepsie Journal, a newspaper circulating in the Town of Beekman. Dated: November 20, 2006 RESOLUTION 11:20:06 - 4 RE: To Set Public Hearing to Amend the Code of the Town of Beekman Section 155-56 H.– Driveways Councilman Daniel French offers the following and moves its adoption: WHEREAS, the current Town Code section 155-56 H, Driveways, does not address access for emergency vehicles nor does it allow for staging areas for emergency vehicles nor does it include the driveway requirements of the highway department; and WHEREAS, the current Town Code section 155-56 H.(5)(a), Driveway Grades, does not take into consideration safety concerns that arise with a driveway grade of more than 10%; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest for the safety of the town’s residents that the Planning Board and the Fire Commissioners strongly recommend that revisions to the current Town Code be made to address the above issues; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that a public hearing on the revision of Section 155-56 H. of the Town Code be held on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 7:20 p.m. at the Town Hall, 4 Main Street, Poughquag, in the Town of Beekman, New York; and be it further RESOLVED, that notice stating the time and place of such hearing and setting forth the proposed amendment, shall be published in the Poughkeepsie Journal, a newspaper circulating in the Town of Beekman, and posted on the signboard of the Town on or before the 24th of November, 2006.
RESOLUTION 11:20:06 - 5 RE: Authorizing Entertainment for “Snowflake Spectacular”
WHEREAS, funds for entertainment at the Snowflake Spectacular were included in the 2006 budget; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with the following vendors for the 2006 Snowflake Spectacular:
Seconded Supervisor John Adams ROLL CALL VOTE: Dated: November 20, 2006 RESOLUTION 11:20:06 - 6 RE: To Request NYS DOT to Authorize a Speed Limit Reduction on Lime Ridge Road
WHEREAS, there is a tremendous volume of traffic on Lime Ridge Road with cars and buses entering and leaving the school on a daily basis as well as an increase in volume during events held at the school; and WHEREAS, there are numerous homes on Lime Ridge Road with school age children, waiting for the bus or being dropped off by the school bus, and WHEREAS, in the best interest of the well-being and safety of our citizens, the Town Board recommends lowering the speed limit on this roadway; now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby requests the New York State Department of Transportation to provide the necessary evaluations in order to reduce the speed limit to 20 miles per hour on this roadway; and be it further RESOLVED, that the area in front of the Beekman Elementary School, 100 yards in both directions on Lime Ridge Road, be posted as a “School Zone”; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized to complete and submit the required TE-9 application to the Dutchess County Department of Public Works.
