RESOLUTION NO. 04:12:22–2
RE: AWARD PROPOSAL FOR TREE WORK AT TOWN HALL
WHEREAS, the Town Board solicited written quotes for the cutting and removal of approximately five trees at the Beekman Town Hall Due to damage and disease of the trees; and
WHEREAS, two quotes were received; and
WHEREAS, the quote from SavAtree, LLC in the amount of $4,025.00 is inclusive of a $200 recycling fee;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that SavAtree, LLC is hereby awarded the job; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to execute any and all documents to carry out the services.

RESOLUTION NO. 04:12:22 - 3
RE: AUTHORIZING INCREASE IN MILEAGE STIPEND FOR BUILDING INSPECTOR II
WHEREAS, the Building Inspector II receives a stipend, in lieu of mileage for the use of his private vehicle to conduct town business; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has decided that this amount should be paid on a quarterly basis, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby sets the quarterly stipend for the Building Inspector II at $350.00, which will be paid retroactive to January 1, 2022.

RESOLUTION NO. 04:12:22-4
RE: RESOLUTION TO EMPLOY SPECIAL COUNCEL ATTORNEYs TO THE TOWN
WHEREAS, Wallace & Wallace, LLP, the Attorneys to the Town of Beekman cannot represent the Town in certain instances; and
WHEREAS, the Town has received an engagement letter from Catania, Mahon & Rider, PLLC to represent the Town of Beekman when requested,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Catania, Mahon & Rider, PLLC with offices at 641 Broadway, Newburgh, New York 12550 be, and hereby is employed and retained to represent the Town of Beekman when requested; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes the Supervisor to execute the engagement letter dated April 12, 2022, submitted to the Supervisor, a copy of which is annexed hereto; and be it further
RESOLVED, Catania, Mahon & Rider, PLLC shall be paid in accordance with the engagement letter submitted to the Supervisor dated April 12, 2022.

RESOLUTION NO. 04:12:22-5
RE:  DECLARE APRIL AS WORLD WIDE PARKINSON’S DISEASE AWARENESS MONTH
WHEREAS, Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological movement disorder of the central nervous system, which has a unique impact on each patient; and
WHEREAS, although new medicines and therapies may enhance life for some time for people with Parkinson’s disease, more work is needed for a cure; and
WHEREAS, symptoms include slowness, tremor, difficulty with balance and speaking, rigidity, cognitive and memory problems; and
WHEREAS, although new medicines and therapies may enhance life for some time for people with Parkinson’s, more work is needed for a cure; and
WHEREAS, increased education and research are needed to help find more effective treatments with fewer side effects and ultimately a cure for Parkinson’s disease; and
WHEREAS, April has been proclaimed as World-Wide Parkinson’s Awareness Month for all to recognize the need for more research and help in dealing with the devastating effects of Parkinson’s disease;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Beekman does hereby proclaim April as Parkinson’s Awareness Month in the Town of Beekman.

RESOLUTION NO. 04:12:22 - 6
RE:  AGREEMENT FOR FERTILIZATION, GRUB AND WEED CONTROL OF TOWN PROPERTIES
WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman is in need of supplementing lawn service in order to adequately maintain the Town’s property; and 
WHEREAS, the Town of Beekman has solicited quotes in conformity with its purchasing policy and has determined that the quote from Neave Landscaping Inc. is in the best interest of the Town; and 
WHEREAS, monies for this purpose were included in the 2022 Budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Beekman does hereby accept the Quote from Neave Landscaping, Inc. for fertilization, grub and weed control of specified properties for the growing season in the amount of $22,022; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes the Supervisor to execute the agreement with Neave Landscaping, Inc.

RE: APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF ASSESSMENT REVIEW
WHEREAS, the Town Board will make appointments to the various boards;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the following appointment be made: 
Appoint Jen Mihocko-Tierney to the Board of Assessment Review with a term to expire September 30, 2022, and be it further
RESOLVED, that all appointments are contingent upon completion and submission of the Disclosure of Interest Statement pursuant to Chapter 19-9 of the Town Code, unless already on file and the information has not changed; and be it further    
RESOLVED, that all appointees shall file their Oath of Office with the Town Clerk of the Town of Beekman prior to serving their term.

RE: AUTHORIZE SALE OF UNUSED HIGHWAY EQUIPMENT AT AUCTION
WHEREAS, the Highway Department has equipment which has reached its expected life expectancy and needs to be replaced; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board is desirous in disposing of this equipment;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes Tony Coviello, Highway Superintendent, to place the following item for sale at auction:
 One -  1987 Oshkosh Cab and Frame.

RESOLUTION NO. 04:12:22 -10
RE: AUTHORIZE SALE OF UNUSED HIGHWAY EQUIPMENT AT AUCTION
WHEREAS, the CSEA is willing to negotiate in theory paying some type of additional compensation to the Building Inspector II: and
WHEREAS, the Town Board would like to enter into these negotiations on behalf of the Building Inspector II;
 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Supervisor and her delegees are hereby authorized to negotiate these terms with CSEA, subject to final approval by the Town Board of the Town of Beekman.
